Fistula is a permanent abnormal passageway between two organs in the body and the exterior of the body. Fistulas can arise in any body part, but they are most common in the digestive tract. They can also occur between blood vessels and in the urinary, reproductive, and lymphatic systems. Fistulas can occur at any age.
